Module 1 – Acting For Audition
Module Length: Ongoing
Weekly Session Fee: £20 per week
Our principle aim at act4tv is to equip an artist with the knowledge, experience and confidence required to attend a TV casting and hopefully obtain the role they’re auditioning for. With this in mind, ‘Module One’ looks at the core elements involved in acting for TV and acting for audition, including:
- Delivering idents and chatting to camera.
- Acting technique and delivery.
- Cold reading of scripts.
- Learning and understanding a scene in under 15 minutes.
- Breaking down and understanding the subtext of a scene.
- Improvisation & improvisation technique.
All classes are performance driven and have been developed to ensure the actor is fully engaged at all times and are performing as much as possibleAll performances are filmed and are displayed on 32 inch wide screen TV’s
All actors are provided with an act4tv 4GB USB stick enabling them to take a copy of the video home to watch as an additional learning tool. This module is designed to run for 26 weeks. However, this may be extended should we feel an actor would benefit from additional units before moving to Module 2.
-
Module 2 – The Showcase/ Formal Audition
Module Length: Variable
Weekly Session Fee: £20 per week
The aim of this module is for the artist to demonstrate their performance skill through an understanding of their chosen script & character choice at either a public showcase or a closed audition in front of invited industry professionals such as casting directors, directors and agents.
This module usually takes about three months, but is driven by the ability of the class to demonstrate they are ready to confidently & successfully audition in either of the above type of environments.
All showcase/ audition pieces are selected by the artist and are one to two minutes in length
